Certified Home Energy Audits

What is a Home Energy Audit?

A home energy audit is a systematic assessment that measures the energy-efficiency of your home. Valley Energy Solutions utilizes cutting-edge technology, like thermal scanning equipment, to examine every room in your house through a series of diagnostic tests. We also inspect the exterior of your home—the outer walls, ceiling, windows and floor—which is called the "envelope" or "shell." Just by sealing and insulating the right areas, we can help homeowners save up to 20% on heating and cooling. Or up to 10% on annual energy bills.

Improving the envelope by sealing and insulating targeted areas can make your home more comfortable, especially under extremely hot or cold conditions, and thus help lower your utility bills. Not to mention, increase comfort and diminish outside noise, reduce pollen, dust and insects from entering your home, as well as gain better humidity control. Below is a list of performance tests and professional services that come standard with every energy audit:

Improving Your Home Envelope

The exterior of your home—the outer walls, ceiling, windows and floor—is called the "envelope" or "shell." Improving the envelope by sealing and insulating can make your home more comfortable, especially under extremely hot or cold conditions, and help lower your energy bills.

Why do you need a professional home energy audit?

Do you have a drafty home? Are certain rooms too hot or too cold? These are common challenges for homeowners. Installing a new heating or air conditioning system, buying replacement windows or adding more insulation may fix the problem. But the only way to truly maximize the energy efficiency of your home is to take a system perspective.

Our certified technicians use cutting-edge technology to measure the efficiency of the system, rather than focusing on one room or component of your home. This comprehensive, whole-house approach produces data-driven recommendations for improving energy efficiency and comfort. But we don't stop there.

After gathering the data from your house, our technicians develop a customized Home Performance Plan, which is a priority list to help organize your home improvements and ensure the best return on your investment.

What is a Home Performance Plan?

Using the data collected from your home energy audit, our certified technicians develop five custom Home Performance Plans that are specific to your home's energy savings and safety. While each plan offers specific energy saving measures unique to the home, common measures include: targeted insulating needs, pinpointing areas for air sealing or furnace replacement. Our goal is to help homeowners with any size budget save energy, reduce bills, increase comfort and help the environment.
